RHI: HIKING PROSTHETIC (V2)

A combat wounded Marine who has bilateral above the knee amputations is very active and wants to be able to hike with his prosthetics. Currently, he has a great deal of difficulty going over uneven terrain with his regular prosthetics because of balance issues and falls. The algorithm in the knee does not react quick enough to adjust. When he uses his “shorties” (no knees), it is more stable, but he must swing his legs around to go uphill or downhill and it is not comfortable or efficient. He requested hiking prosthetics that allow him to walk over uneven terrain safely and efficiently.

RHI: MULTI-SPORT PROSTHETIC FOOT (V2)

The Challenger is an active-duty sailor who has been in the Navy for approximately 4 years now. He sustained an injury to his right leg when he was run over by a helicopter during his first tour, and recently had it amputated below the knee. He enjoys a variety of sports and is interested in having a multi-sport prosthetic foot that allows him to play baseball, body build, and cycle without having to change out his foot. ‍
