Our Innovative and Life-Changing Solutions

Quality of Life Plus and Adaptive Freedom Foundation provided the opportunity to aid adaptive athletes in open water activities.  This began with meeting Adaptive Freedom Foundation and understanding how we can improve their work processes as engineers. The need was established as the design, analysis, and manufacture of an existing product: Wheelchair Adaptive Stand-Up Paddleboard. Meeting with Adaptive Freedom Foundation in Newport Beach allowed the team to understand what makes the existing model functional while establishing design goals for the next design iteration. After collecting data and performing technical research for industry standard practices, design ideation began with hand sketches and 4-3-5 sessions. After many cad sessions, a design matrix, and a house of quality, a final design was chosen. The final design accomplishes the user requirements and maintains resemblance to the previous design without drastic changes to the aesthetic of the system.
