Colonel (Ret) Barbara Springer, PT, Ph.D.
Col. Springer is the QL+ East Coast Program Manager. Dr. Springer has over 30 years of experience helping with military personnel and veterans recover from all levels of trauma through her efforts in physical therapy, therapeutic programs, research, and education. She brings years of involvement in programs to help and support amputees and those injured. She has led many task forces and panels involved in all forms of rehabilitation. Among her duties as the East Coast Program Manager she will be the main interface with students and faculty for technical and operational involvement with the challengers and care givers. Her reputation throughout the Army medical establishment is legendary and we are fortunate to have her on the QL+ Team.
Amberly D. Humphrey, Esq.
Ms. Humphrey is the QL+ Central Region Program Manager. Ms. Humphrey is a licensed attorney and certified mediator. She has extensive experience in the non-profit arena and is using that experience and training to connect with the challengers and caregivers and to write grants and raise funds to support our student engineers and laboratory.
To achieve our goal, the QL+ organization is guided by its Board of Directors and staff, all of who share our commitment and dedication to supporting wounded warriors.
QL+ staff are charged with implementing the strategic plans of the QL+ Board.
Mr. Kuhn is the HR and Finance Manager; he handles project and travel reimbursements relating to QL+ Projects. He is also responsible for keeping track of all program related expenses, budgets and other financial matters for the Program. He is happy to help answer questions related to project finances and other financial matters.
A CPA certified to practice in Virginia, Demetra Matthews provides a full range of accounting, tax and business consulting services to individuals and companies. Prior to establishing her consultancy, Ms. Matthews accumulated nine years of auditing experience at an international accounting firm, plus nine years of tax experience at Washington-based accounting firms. She also spent seven years as a consultant to clients of an international accounting firm. Ms. Matthews has significant experience working with non-stock companies and charitable entities. She has served as an Officer of the McLean Community Foundation, as an Officer and Director of the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce, and as an Officer and Director of the Northern Chapter of the Virginia Society of CPAs.
