VMI Cadets Present Capstone Projects

For their senior capstone, Virginia Military Institute electrical and computer engineering students tackled challenges with real impact.

One team—supported by QL Plus—developed an all-in-one Android app to help veterans living with traumatic brain injury (TBI) manage daily routines, appointments, and reminders.

The project, done in collaboration with Craig Hospital and Operation TBI Freedom, will launch this summer and is already being praised for its simplicity, usability, and life-enhancing potential.

Another cadet team earned honorable mention from the U.S. Army DEVCOM for designing a system to monitor battlefield radio battery life—crucial for communication in combat zones.
