What is Blaster’s Garage? Blaster’s Garage is a YouTube mini-series, detailing the process and steps it takes to rebuild a vehicle. It was created by Leon Tackitt, the owner, and winemaker at Tackitt Family Vineyards, near Paso Robles, California. Leon served for 27 years in the United States Navy, with over 22 of those years in Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD). He partnered with Eric Symonds of Templeton, California and his wife Michelle. Eric and his wife owned a rebuild shop in Los Angeles before relocating it to Templeton. Regarding his collaboration with Eric and Michelle, Leon states, "It's a perfect fit."
Leon is also an Ambassador for the EOD Warrior Foundation. The EOD Warrior Foundation serves the EOD community by offering four pillars of support: financial relief, education, hope and wellness, and, EOD memorial care. Leon created Blaster’s Garage to raise funds for the EOD Warrior Foundation and QL+. Leon met QL+ Founder, Jon Monett several years ago and is a fan of our mission and felt that raising funds for both organizations was a perfect fit.

The talented team of Leon Tackitt and Eric Symonds from Blaster's Garage will be performing a total rebuild on a Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60. This vehicle is being touted as the next hot classic SUV. The Land Cruiser was donated by Jimmy Parminter, and a kick-off party for the mini-series will be hosted at Blaster's Garage in Templeton, California.
The purpose of Blaster’s Garage is two-fold. First, it is to raise funds for the EOD Warrior Foundation and QL+. Second, it is to highlight Veterans and the work done by the EOD Warrior Foundation and QL+.
How can you help? Become a sponsor. The team at Blaster’s Garage are looking for sponsors to help them with the rebuild. Purchase a raffle ticket. The number of raffle tickets being sold is limited, to increase your odds of winning. The proceeds from the sale of the raffle tickets will be donated to the EOD Warrior Foundation and QL+. Buy a ticket to the Kick-Off Party. A delicious meal and wine-by-the-glass will be served, and ticket-holders will have a front-row seat at the start of the rebuilding process.
We are very grateful to Leon Tackitt, Blaster’s Garage, its sponsors, and supporters!
