QL+ LABORATORY
The QL+ Laboratory is a hands-on education center, dedicated to the application of real-world STEM engineering principles through ‘learning by innovating’. The pioneering Lab is located at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) in San Luis Obispo, California – America’s top feeder school to the defense aerospace industry, second only to the US Military Academies.It is is wholly funded by the QL+ Program.
Here, some of America’s best and brightest young engineers collaborate closely with wounded Veterans, under the guidance of experienced faculty and staff, to develop innovative, transformative adaptive technologies as part of their educational curriculum. The experience is beneficial for everyone involved:
- Solving these challenges provides an enhanced STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) educational experience; students from multiple engineering disciplines work together on meaningful projects with real-world applications.
- Most importantly, injured patriots regain the ability to live, to work and to play to their full potential.
QL+ Projects produce innovative solutions to the issues experienced daily by individuals with service-related disabilities. The technology developed enables our nation’s heroes across all aspects of their dailiy lives. QL+ solutions may serve a broad disabled population, a smaller subset, or even the specialized needs of a single individual.
